How to MOVE Photos from Facebook to Google Photos

Photos taken with the Android device can be uploaded to many online storage sites. The most popular ones are certainly Facebook and Google Photos.

Over time, small photo collections accumulate on different storage devices. Facebook has now added an interesting feature. You can easily move your photos and videos from there to Google Photos. I’ll show you how to do that here.

Online storage as backup

Today’s smartphones take photos that are several megabytes in size. Even the largest storage space of an Android device quickly reaches its limits. This is where online storage comes in handy. On an Android device, it is certainly the most convenient to use Google Photos to store your photos as a backup.

If you don’t use this feature yet, but you already have a lot of photos stored on Facebook? Then you will like a recently added feature: You can send all your photos to Google Photos directly from Facebook.

Transfer photos to Google – Here’s how

So far it is not possible to open the tool within the app. If you click on this link, you will be taken directly to the Facebook tool. You may have to log in to Facebook if you have not yet opened a session in the browser.

Here you will find the option to select a target page, i.e. another online storage and to decide whether photos, videos or both are to be transferred.

The first time you run the program, you have to grant Facebook write access to Google and the transfer will start. This can be paused or stopped completely.
